I wait. Humans have tried for years to build the perfect race immune to disease. They have succeeded but the result is that all females die at age 20 and all males die at age 25. To keep the human race from dying out the rich pay kidnappers for teenage brides. Rhine is one of these brides. Her only thought is to escape and rejoin her twin brother, but budding friendships with her sister wives and husband, as well as a budding romance with a servant and a controlling father-in-law may throw a wrench in her plans. So this book pretty much read like a long prequel for the series. The majority of the book was spent talking about the wonderful house the wives lived in and all the pretty clothes and delicious food. At times, I felt like I was just reading a script for the next CW show. It doesn't help that pretty much all of the action takes place in the last 50 pages. However, there were some good things about the book. I liked that the author made every character into a sympathetic character, at least to some extent which is sometimes difficult to find in dystopia books. The premise was very interesting and I do want to see where the author goes with it. The descriptive language in the book was well done, it was easy to get lost in the settings. I would recommend this book to dystopia fans who don't mind a slow start to their series. It is an interesting premise and I am intrigued to see what the rest of the series will be like.
