I started reading this book with enthusiasm. But, to my great disappointment, it had a curse word in it(When Eragon talks to Sloan). I do not like curse words. I have, and will, stop reading a book that has one in it. So I would not recomend this book. Eldest and Brisingr are really good books to read.
I thought the characters were boring. At first, they were at least intriguing: belligerently drunk, bickering, and idle. Then I lost all interest in their endeavors; while Gatsby (who I liked) completely indulged. The fact that it is a tragedy is what makes it. **My recent Film Noir class has earned this book another star. It doesn't hurt to figure Jack Nicholson as Gatsby rather than Robert Redford either. Now, there's a reason for another reread. (Not to mention, the fitting innuendo on The Wire.) Still, it's too bad that I'd have to resort to the faculty of my cinematic imagination.
