It involves time travel back to the Middle Ages, focusing on a trip gone awry that lands a scholar in the middle of the Black Plague. Well-written and entertaining.

I've heard great things about David Sedaris, and even read (and loved) a couple of his stories for a class, but I just could not get into this book. I'm going to give another one a try.
