The characters were awesome! I loved Maggie's voice, and all the foibles of all the different characters. The plot is okay, if not at all believable. And then the ending came... ruined the whole book for me. Maybe that's just me.

Even after 200 pages, what I would normally consider past the point of no return, I can't read any more of this book. It is interesting, but I thought it was going to be more about the otherworldly aspects of this world and so far it isn't. Its just about people and their particular wickednesses. I don't think that what I'm hearing about the HBO series is helping. I didn't want to watch it thinking the book would be better but now I'm beginning to think the book was made for being made into a movie, something so long and boring with a tiny story that a show could cut down and add some sex to make it interesting. I'm giving this one to my father-in-law, I think he'll like it. Maybe.
