I savored this book. I want to wipe my memory of reading it so that I can start again at the beginning and experience it anew. To all you people reading this for the first time, I envy you. For all that I gave it 5 stars, this book isn't perfect. The first segment is slow, without the sharp personalities and acrobatically witty prose that shows up in many of the later segments, particularly Letters from Zedelghem and The Ghastly Ordeal of Timothy Cavendish. I would give most segments 6 stars if I could. Oh, enjoy, gentle reader. Enjoy it all, drink it all in, let it make you want to make the world a bit better of a place than it is.
