** spoiler alert ** There were some good "Aha" moments that I was looking for, and I liked having Brr's account of things. It really did add a lot to my understanding of the two previous books. But I felt like I was still left wanting, and that bothered me knowing (or assuming) that this is the last book of the series. I wasn't sold on Brr's mission and the purpose of it. Nor was I sold on the conclusion. Everyone just goes off nonchalantly and without purpose, it seems. And all this lead up to "the child" and talk of Kumbricia and Ozma...with absolutely no explanation or follow through. That aside, I once again was enthralled by Maguire's description of Oz and his ability to make the reader question "known" fact. I was also pleased with the use the themes of courage and Brr's need for approval-- the way Jemmsy haunts him constantly and continuously to the end and even seems to make Brr choose to fail. Wonderful. EDIT: I just did a search and it looks like there has been talk of a 4th book, so I feel less offended now.
