I couldn't stand this book. I've been through a rough time with an old friend lately, and because of it, my boss insisted I read this and that I would love it (even going so far as to push her kindle into my hands and insist I keep it until done... so essentially, this book was assigned to me as homework). I found both characters very real, and really quite unlikeable. One is a feeble, socially inept boot licker, while the other is a vapid, self-centered, manipulative bitch. However, pushing aside the fact that their "battles" have more to do with appearance and male attention than anything of substance, there actually is some truth to be found, and that is that many female friendships have more to do with competition than love and mutual respect. That, however, is a very sad truth, and did not make this read an enjoyable experience. I'd classify this is a light beach read. I'm sure there are better books out there for people freshly mourning a friendship.
A gem of a book, short stories about love with a twist.
