I read this book in about an hour and a half, this afternoon of June the 1. It was an easy read, definitely, but with complex undertones of spirituality, magic, and perhaps drugs. The end of chapter 1 was particularly lovely. It was full of mermaids and haunting flute music and words that turned into snakes and dragons. Yet, in the narrator's mind--and in my mind too--it was all real. Someday I'd like to go to that magical land.
