Beni rahatsız edici derecede erken gelişmiş bir "özel kar tanesi" türü olarak vuran Kuş Buda'nın hikayesini pek umursamadım. Ama martıların grenli siyah-beyaz fotoğrafları beni gıdıkladı ve bunun (açıklanamaz bir şekilde) küresel bir çok satan olduğunu sevdim.

If you enjoy the mystery genre, this is a good read. Lippman does a good job of making her characters interesting and fairly complex. No character is all good or all bad. The motives of the various characters range from nefarious to charitable with quite a bit of mix in between. Tess, the main character, was likable but definitely had her flaws. The mystery kept me guessing until the very end, which a good thing in this type of novel. Overall, a very pleasant (and quick! - only 288 pages) read.

Every character is obnoxious. A giant typhoon or earthquake killing every named person in this novel would have improved it.

Well... This book was a good easy read without anything too complex to think about. I read it in one sitting and while it was simple, it was still a page turner and I just had to keep going to find out what was happening. There was a bit of predictability in the story but it was still good and I generally liked all of the characters. And the swoon worthy boy, Alex, was worth the read as well. I enjoyed the direction the story went and was happy to totally believe in everything I ended up finding out about! I don't want to give anything away but read this if you want a good, easy read that has some swoon, some intrigue and a small twist that makes waiting for book two a bit of a pain!!
