Like most young adult classics, Tom Sawyer is one of those books I know I should have read, but can't remember if I ever actually did. We didn't have Goodreads back in those days to help us keep track. So I picked it up at the library and loved the fabulously sharp-witted boy adventure escape it gave me. Mark Twain is a master (of course, as usual, I am a century later than the world in realizing it). Just in case I ever entertained delusions that I could ever be a writer, this confirms I cannot. But no one can stop me from reading, and I think a lot of Mark Twain will be in my queue this year.
