My opinion on this book was that it was a little better than the other books, but it still wasn't great. The whole series is based on angst, which there happens to be less of in this book, which makes it at least a little better. Also there was the 'epic ending battle' factor, which improved the plot marginally. However, it was clear that, at the end of the book, things would go back to being normal.
