I like more adventure and less poetry in my reading but I'm still glad I read this one since it's a classic and the movie was one of my favorites as a kid.

True story of China under Mao - excellent metaphor on war and those willing to help against what authority says. Sad

Alright so, here's my review for this special book. I read the series in about 6th grade due to a recommendation from a friend. I instantly loved it, and I reread it a few times, loving it each time. Then I heard people saying things about how it had no plot, how it was repetitive, and how it didn't set a good example. I reread the series, and I realized all of these things were true. So, maybe a few years ago my rating would be around four or five stars. But as of now, I really can't stand the series, so, one star.
