I am SO ready for the real zombie apocolypse. I'm just putting that out there - if anyone wants to survive, they better band with me. I know how to tell a real zombie from a fake one, I know how to outrun them, sneak past them... but most importantly, I know how to send them back to the hellish world where they belong. Some of that knowledge came from hours of playing Left 4 Dead. Most of it came from this book. This is fantastic - what a great concept. It tells about all the parts of a zombie apocolypse that you want to know: the stories, the events. Because you're not just following one person, it's realistic and it provides all the "facts" that one civilian just couldn't know. Even better is that the setting changes with each person and Brooks is diverse - China to South Africa to Wisconsin to Canada to Iceland to the ocean floor. This was beautifully executed to the point where you almost believed it actually happened. It's an extremely unique twist on zombie storytelling and it'll make you think about how much humanity can endure.
