The author supplements original text with his own brief biographies, interpretations, and summaries for each theorist. I found the excerpts to be adequately representative of the major theoretical points, but were edited in such a way that some sections are noticeably choppy or brief. Having read some of the original texts in their entirety, several chapters were entirely superficial and disappointing. However, if you lack great familiarity with the theorists, this book would serve as a decent introductory text.
