** spoiler alert ** Sweet story of 4 women that buy and "rent" a cottage in April in Italy. They go by themselves but little by little the magic of flowers and the cottage helps them become better and closer in their relationships with each other and life. Really enjoyed it. Made me really want to go back to Italy and just hang out in an enchanted April myself.

This was my first Iain M Banks book to read and it's one of my favourites! The story follows the travels of a mercenary spy who tags along with another unsuspecting band of mercenaries, this usually turns out bad for all concerned, but place them all in the path of an advancing front line in a galactic war and things get very interesting. While this might seem like your usual affair, Banks doesn't leave anything out, you cheer when the baddies die, you cry when the goodies die, you clench your teeth and your jaw hits the floor more times than I can remember! A great book recommended to anyone!
