Jonathan Livingston Seagull's courage and determination to seek his full potential, ignoring the multitude of naysayers, is inspiring. His journey is the journey of the human soul - the levels of spiritual growth which were are destined to reach in the next realm, and which we begin to transgress in this life. On my second read this year, I discovered what a great teacher Jonathan is. He exemplifies the selflessness, patience, encouragement, and love that are necessary to empower others to strive towards their potential. This new dimension takes challenges me to take the step beyond seeking personal growth and to grow with others, being of service to my community in a real way.
