In which Artemis is not himself and Orion isn't Artemis either. It had a beginning, a middle and an end, which is often a plus, and wrapped up well, but despite the fact that it was packed with stuff happening I sort of found it a bit lifeless. It feels like an odd and possibly unfair complaint, but I finished the book feeling that it was all a bit too smooth and polished. Artemis has developed a mental disorder/disability which seriously impairs his ability to function and for much of action Artemis is out of action, and we find ourselves stuck with a seriously annoying twit called Orion instead. But I'm pleased to say that Colfer doesn't, I don't think, make any cheap jokes out mental disability. More twins (they have grown on me) and more No1 (still love him).
