It's amazing to me the amount of racism within any nationality and class. It's a moving story of how people experience loss at multiple levels and deal with anguish.
This was a pretty good read. Wasn't one of my absolute favorites, but I enjoyed it. I will say that the movie did not live up to it though.
I thought this book was fun, easy and cute - perfect for juvenile readers. I really enjoyed the story and the idea of a "living" castle that will add or remove rooms as it wants. The story was good enough that with a little more, it could have been a young adult novel. In other words, it was too short for me, but again, seemed perfect for the age group it was written for. I also enjoyed the characters and wish we could have had more time with them before the story ended.
