I read this book the summer before I entered college, in 2001. I liked it much better the second time around, after I had done some of my own missionary work. This, I believe, is a difficult story to relate to when one has not lived an experience similar to the one lived by the family in this book. It is extremely well-written, though, and, with the right perspective, can be enjoyed by anyone.
