I got this as a free book from the Goodreads giveaways, and it was a great book to receive. Dugoni has a way of getting you to know and like his characters immediately, as one embraces say, Stephen King's characters. The story was gripping and engaging from page one - I simply did not want to put it down. As with any good thriller, there are various things happening on different stages, but everything was well so balanced that you didn't mind leaving a tense cliff-hanger because you were about to either get into or resolve another situation with another cahracter. The legal portions of the book feel right (I have no reason to suppose that Dugoni, a lawyer, cheated with any of the facts or procedurals of law) but more than that, the law is a comfortable, essential part of the narrative rather than a prop or hinderance as it is for some authors.
