The book was entertaining; the author notes really worked for me; this unique format added to the novel. As for the mystery though, I felt like the it wasn't anything spectacular. The characterization became muddled at times. Overall this was a good read with humor and mystery combined. I got this novel through the Goodreads ARC givaway program.

A brutally beautiful book. Don't let Oprah's involvement deter you - Danticant's a brilliant writer.

Scary read about what can happen when Big Brother truly takes over. The prose is sympathetic without suffering sentimentalism, presenting an honest depiction of government gone wild.
