I plowed through this book. A story with a clear moral. Most interesting to me was to compare this novel to her more recent Oryx and Crake, which I also read in the past few months. Atwood's fears about the future may have changed (for the better, for women at least) though her lessons in both remain thoughtful and frightening.

I know it sounds cliche, but this book actually changed my life. It didn't make me a Buddhist or anything. But it helped me realize that it's okay to quit/give up on something if you know it's not right for you. It's important to try many things before you find your fit.
