One of the best anti-war novels there is. I recommend reading and watching the movie from the 1930's.

Love this book! Amazing story.

This is an amazing book. I started reading it because, I'll just admit it, I felt like I 'should,' but a few chapters in I was awed and couldn't put it down. Read it.

When presented with this well reviewed book the first thing I thought, honestly, was "oh, a glitter cover, how bad could it be?". Sad but true. I was only through my obsessive stubbornness that I finished this book. It was a cluster of characters that not only weren't really likable, but seemed to only get more unlikeable as the story went on. Runaways, street urchins, pimps, strippers, lots and lots of porn. I think that somewhere in there could have been a really good story, but it got lost in translation.
