I absolutely loved this book. I first read it in high school. My friend and I did a book report on it and used a tin lunch box to represent the suitcases used in the books (I won't spoil the symbolic nature of it) but it was really awesome. Every word made my insides tingle. I've never been more struck by a ppiece of literature than I was by this book.

And this book....not a strong ending to what started out as a pretty cool trilogy. Katniss became totally lame - to the point that she was even present for what it seemed the book was leading up to. And the action was so frenzied, at times, I had no idea what was going on. Felt like this one was really being written for the eventual screen play. Oh well - my advice would be to read the first book and stop there. Then again, my husband reminds me that this is a book for 12 year olds so maybe I should not have such high standards...
