I had a hard tome putting this book down. I loved Jack and Ma and wanted to hold them, rescue them and keep them safe. With some heartbreaking and heart pounding moments the author keeps your attention even though much of the book takes place in an 11 by 11 foot room. For a thought provoking read, put yourself in "Room".

What a great story. Applicable too, when one considers that this new century witnesses a race, class, and religion clash. Here all three are addressed in this coming-of-age story that also deftly combines the story of the Congo. Extremely moving and well told.
