I'm a big fan of Alexander McCall Smith's 44 Scotland Street series, and now, as it turns out, this is the first book in a series much like it, just set in an apartment building in London instead of Edinburgh. As always plenty of characters to like and cheer for and a particulary wonderful dog named Freddy De La Hay.
