I read this book for a historiography assignment on the History of Children in the Early Twentieth Century. It's not, however, a history. There are a few chapters that were helpful for me in my topic, but overall, it's more of a current analysis of the ways in which children are being written about and understood. I find it rather outdated (i.e. talking ABOUT children rather than having them talk about themselves) but it does add to the literature on the topic.
