There are so many good reviews on here for this work, so I will refrain from expounding anymore than that I found it a fast moving, sometimes funny and overall very good novel. Ivanhoe, the character came across as predictably dull and was not around for a significant part of the book. Other characters like Richard, Bois-Guilbert, Front-de-Boeuf, and Locksley all provided ample entertainment (even Wamba gives more reason to keep reading than the titular "hero").

I was hooked on her writing. They are researched history books with the character experiencing the events. This book is one of my favorites by her.
