This book started out slow and I wasn't sure I liked it. There were parts of it that were in my opinion too detailed. But over all I found I really enjoyed reading the story behind it. It was a good setting, the jumps between different scenes were smooth. Since little is known about Julius Ceasar's early life, it is easy to imagine this was it. I would recommend the story, and am even looking to read the next in the series as well as look to the author's other series.
