Great book - what a fun life. And she's over 6ft tall and didn't start cooking till her mid 30s!!

This is one of those books that accidentially teaches you about life in general while telling a beautiful story very specific to a time and place you would not ordinarily relate to. I read this book while travelling through south india (without a cell phone, email, friend, or common language) and I learned so much about myself while reading it. If you are the guarded type (not likely to be moved by a book), you will still love LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA for the language.
