First of my friends to give it three stars but... I couldn't get into the story. Surprisingly (for me), I wasn't bothered by the D/s theme, quite the opposite, it was treated naturally, without humiliation nor unnecessary violence. I felt very comfortable with it and that's saying a lot. I didn't mind the lack of plot either. I don't care if the whole "kidnapping" wasn't realist, as long as it moves their relationship forward. It was fun actually. Now what it wasn't believable was the way the MCs talked. Seriously, read a dialogue between them and imagine two guys saying out loud in real life..... I didn't intend to write anything (jeez!) and I want to say a lot more, but I'll refrain. Just one more thing: the prose is superb. I really love the way she tells things, describes feelings, gets us into David's head. If she releases another book, I'm def buying it.
Martin proves that he is a modern master. Speculative fiction readers of all types will enjoy this series, and fantasy fans especially will delight in the novelty and fast-pace. The only readers who might not enjoy it are the faint of heart... Full Review: [http://www.arwz.com/zinereviewVIO7.php]
