Bu kitap güzel yazılmış. En mutlu hikaye değil, ama inanılmaz iyi anlatılan ve dokunaklı.

Everyone kept telling me to read this book. I was wary of the amount of hype surrounding it, but it definitely pulled through. Jacob Jankowski is going to Cornell to become a veterinarian when disaster strikes with the death of his parents and the Great Depression. He finds that he cannot finish school and finds himself aboard a train carrying a circus. Part romance, part suspense, the climax is surprising. The narrative switches between old Jacob in a nursing home and young Jacob with the circus. It confronts growing old head on, and gives an interesting insight into the life of an elderly man. I was expecting the ending to be completely sad and depressing. While it was not necessarily happily ever after for everyone, Sara Gruen gave it a much happier ending than I would have expected. There was no suspense about what happened--there is definite closure to the story. I really appreciate that because it seems too often I am left wondering where exactly the character ends up. I look forward to seeing how well the movie does in adapting the book for the big screen.

¡Excelente libro! Amé a todos los personajes, con risas, y lindos sentimientos, y a pesar de que no hay una trama profunda, no pude dejar de reirme, de querer leer más, y tener amigas así.

Being a wetland scientist I may be more interested in the topic than most people. I found the history fascinating. Thought the book was written clearly and informative.
