I did not ENJOY this book. I was never able to connect to the topics of these short stories/essays. (They felt like more essays than fiction.) I suspect that the feminist ideology of many of the chapters and the motherhood of the later ones were the reason.

This was a decent follow up to the first book. I enjoy the characters, though, I had a hard time remembering who they were because it had been so long since I read the first one. If you plan on reading this, I recommend reading the first one again to help yourself remember the story line.

A high-school teacher I met at a party in Paris wrote this. I really enjoyed the description of the Louvre as the run-down royal residence and other fun tidbits about life in the court.
