There's a lot to like here: characters with come real grit and moral ambiguity, and a real sense of history. Much like Da Vinci Code, the macguffin here is Documents That Will Change The World. As someone who studies Early Christianity, I know that Documents That Will Change The World actually won't - they will be written about, disputed, and footnoted. There's some awareness of that in The Pope's Assassin, and that grounds the book. It's an airport thriller, and doesn't break past that. But a very enjoyable read for what it is. This copy was a GoodReads Giveaway.

It's a really fun book and it's a rhyming book. I like that it's a rhyming book.
