This is one of my favorite books by Dekker.
Though I thought this was a very dark book, I did finish it--did not particularly enjoy this one.
very exciting read! i couldn't put it down!
Winnning His Spurs? I haven't read it, but "Winning his Spurs" is a famous quip about the Black PrinceFrom the 1346 Crecy Campaign. Nothing to do with the crusades!
This is not what I was expecting, but appreciate Picoult's attempt to bring to light the 'hauntings' we feel, experience and cope with in our desire to understand our life.
As I finished reading, I was really only left with this sense of uselessness in any of the characters actions. I think Philip K. Dick poses a lot of the questions/ideas in the book (what is reality, what does it mean to be alive, etc.) much better in some of his other short stories. Man in the High Castle comes to mind most quickly. This story just left me cold.
