I liked this book but the author kept jumping around to different ages/years which made it a bit confusing. I grew up in the same time frame and area so could relate to some stuff she wrote about. She talks about different food stuff, some of which her family couldn't afford to buy and I can remember being jealous of people who had twinkies in their sack lunches and I was stuck with hot lunches because our family received assistance with the cost.
