I really enjoyed this book. The story was great, and it took me by surprise more than once. Which I tend to like, unless really cool people die. Which they did. However, I found that some parts of the story were left unfinished. Was it really Arran's mother at the pool? What happened to Sophie? And Sam? And everyone at the Palace? What's going to happen to Blue, Maxie, and the others? And I don't want to read a prequel. I want a sequel! Tell me what happens! Also, what was up with the two adults, Nick and Rachel? Why weren't they dead or affected by the disease? And then when he went up to the surface, he automatically gets the blisters and dies. And why does it take so long for English books to come out in America?

Warren Ellis is a crazed genius, and John Cassiday is a magnificent artist. Crazy geniuses can however create very inconsistent work, but planetary is consistently great. It's a story about archaeologists of the twentieth century, each of the stories in this volume is in the style of a different genre of entertainment in the 20th century. a true love letter to mass media and culture.
