Struggled with the beginning of the story. I know Balogh is trying to introduce and set up the series, but I had to force myself through some scenes. The first meeting between the main characters is a P&P rip-off that is no where the same caliber as Austen. Once you get through the initial ackwardness, it's a great read. Can't wait for next book and I'm fascinated by Con.

I thought I loved the book, but my friend informs me that I just fell in love with Claire. Either way, this knocked my socks off. Innovative fantasy concept and an innovative presentation, all in a lovely voice. And this is her first book?
