We all read it in high school.... but have you read it as an adult? Really good. I never realized how smashed they were getting all the way through this book.
I read this book at the recommendation of a professor while I was studying in Prague. He taught a class called the "Culture of Dissent" and when I mentioned that I enjoyed reading, he brought in this book for me. I enjoyed reading the different character's reactions and feelings towards the books they were reading. I had read all the books the women read in the book, and enjoyed gaining a completely different perspective on them. It was extremely interesting to me to learn about the life of a woman in Iran and opened my eyes to the incredible social injustice there.
