Ma itibaren Firmeza, Peru
A brilliant book--most definitely my favorite so far this year. I enjoyed the pacing of the book, the family history (and it has everything to do with the story despite what some reviewers have said), the culture, the message. It was cleverly witty, humorous and heartbreaking. It was a story worth telling with endearing characters (with clever names). Although it is a piece of fiction, it read more like a memoir—the characters were so real and it was packed full of (real?) information. The narrator, Kristoffer Tabori, was wonderful. I think he read it faster than I could have read it to myself, but all the way through I felt he was personally telling me the story. I long book, but I savored every morsel.
