I loved every moment of this book about a lone southern girl surviving in a post-apocalyptic world. Rather than add my own commentary I will refer to this already perfect summary from amazon: "The language is flawless. It is unobtrusive, but lush and almost lyrical. The pacing, too, flawless. Not a passage drags, nothing wasted. The characters are strong and believable; their motivations make sense; their voices are clear and distinct."
Good story on waht to expect when a new baby comes home and what a big brother/sister can do to help. Willnot use in storytime
I'm not as big of a fan of the Secret Seven as I am of the Famous Five and the Five Find-Outers, etc. I think it is because it was written for a younger set (I mean, not that the rest of her books were written for 25-year-olds), so younger children also had their own adventure series that was perhaps less frightening. Plus I always get confused because there are so many characters to keep track of...Janet and Peter are siblings, Barbara and Colin, Pam and ummm who else? And then Jack, who has a younger sister Susie not part of the Seven, but often causing trouble. Blah blah blah. But this one talks about Guy Fawkes Day, which is cool, cause that is not something we have in America.
What a wonderful book about Physics. It answers very many puzzling questions that I always wondered about! Dr Phil just says it like it is .... it is a very fresh approach to teaching .... the truth! Anyone can read this book and understand some complex concepts thanks to Dr Phil. Try it ... you'll like it!!!
