What a book! This is a story about the origins of punk, told by the originators themselves, and if what they have to say is sometimes shallow, inane or offensive, well that's oral history for you. So many gory, crazy, absolutely tragic stories! You don't have to be a punk rock fan to enjoy this, although I am, but you probably want to have at least a passing interest in rock music history. And the mystery of how Iggy Pop is still alive when so many lesser transgressors didn't make it to middle age will have me pondering the mysteries of life for days...
Very well researched. The author is very knowledgeable about the subject and helps the reader think outside the box in assessing different scenarios. However, it is not as layman friendly as I would have preferred.
