Have you ever looked back on your life and wondered, what if? Well, this is that type of story. Meet Jillian Westfield. From an outsider's perspective she has everything a modern, suburban woman could ask for. She lives in a posh part of town, is married to a successful businessman and has one beautiful daughter she dotes on. But just like many people who look like they have it all together, Jillian feels like something's missing on the inside. So one day she makes a silent wish that she could go back and do it all over. And, in cheesy time machine fashion, she actually does. Returning to herself seven years prior Jillian has the chance to make things right with the one that got away as well as mend and defend other relationships that were broken too. But as Jillian relives life in a new fashion with an old flame she starts to remember it's also important to be careful what you wish for. In theory, I really liked the premise of this book. But the main character, Jillan was all over the place. For the first half of the story she seemed enamored with making it work with her ex only to push for the exact opposite in the second half. I also didn't like how they introduced the backstory of her mother and tried to loosely connect it to her attitude towards her own motherhood. I think this aspect of the story could have been more fine tuned and would have ultimately made it a more well-rounded read overall.
