Vonnegut can give you a glimpse of the majesty of the human experience while simultaneously feeding your cynicism. After reading this book of his work before Sirens of Titan and even Player Piano, it's clear that he could do that from day one as a writer. Thank god he quit GE!

I have't actually read this in awhile, but it amazed me the first time around.
