This is an interesting read, probably more so if you're big into the outdoors. The person the story centers around is, more or less, a modern day hobo, a sub-culture that I didn't realize existed presently to any sort of significant degree. I found the familial ties explored in the book the most interesting part. Krakauer tries to write without a clear bias, which is something that I don't think he succeeds in.
