VAOV!

So fun! A great way to pass the commute or other small windows of reading time. His quirky revelations are great for pespective's sake. It falls off a bit towards the end, when he's been in the US for years, but lots of laugh before then. Definitely recommended!
In short: I want a sequel with Blackwood and Dick, because I hated everyone else (except for Sal, at first).
A high achieving executive, Adam March has a nervous breakdown one day at work and attacks his slacker secretary and finds his entire life turned upside down. He loses everything: his wife, very privileged way of life, his money etc. After his arrest he is sentenced to community service at a men's food kitchen. He is forced to confront the demons from his childhood. He finds redemption in the form of a similarly scarred pit bull he adopts and names Chance for the second chance they are both being given. I love dog stories anyway. This one is not only about the dog, but you learn a lot about the horrible world of illegal dog fighting from the dog's narration. Both the main characters are believable and compelling. I liked this book very much.
