Anthony Bourdain's writing is always entertaining, but the thing that I enjoy the most is the respect that he gives food, no matter how "foreign" it may seem from a Western perspective. He wholeheartedly digs into any dish put in front of him - a true gourmand!

This is my second book by Georgette Heyer. I find the pace slightly slower compared to the other books I have read, which are based around this era, however once you get into the plot. It is an enjoyable book to read. The elegant wit, etiquette, delicate romance....its a world which I love to escape into.

Excited to read this book even though I am 23 years behind schedule apparently. ***And now I am finished. It was probably the only pirate book I have read since Treasure Island (historical romance can NOT count in this category). It's complex and yet the pace of this book never slowed, there was plenty of action and mythology/world building to be engaged with. If you want to borrow it, let me know. I will be happy to mail it to you. Otherwise, I am donating to my library. :)
