Best book ever.

After all the enthusiastic stories I heard about this novel it was a bit disappointing to read. It is a nice read, but the main character Allan didn't really touch my heart and his life story was so unbelievable that the book didn't make it past three stars for me... It's an ingenious storyline, but it cannot reach the brilliance of a story like Forrest Gump.

Nice summer read if you are into magic and narratives that take place in pre-New World England. A little slow in points as all 700 page novels are but the final 2 or 300 pages are very entertaining.
