Anyone who wants to read a book about Christmas that would life your spirits... this is it. This is a very funny book about a couple of friends and sibblings.
If you've read The Eight by Katherine Neville, you'll understand why I was excited this evening when I realized I was going to finish reading this book on April 4th. And after years of hearing praise and recommendations for The Eight, I was very excited to read both it and this the sequel. I was distracted at times by some rather unbelievable cameos, but generally I grew progressively more hooked as I discovered each new plot twist. My only real criticism, and perhaps it was a miscalculation of remaining pages or my increasing hookedness that caused it, was that I felt the ending was very abrupt. I recommend The Fire for those who've enjoyed The Eight. I recommend The Eight for those who've enjoyed Focault's Pendulum , Angels and Demons , and The Da Vinci Code .
I'm glad I finally got through this book. It was a bit difficult but thankfully short. The author is obviously very bright. Really creative and great concept. I guess I take for granted our/my ability to communicate through speaking and writing.
