I liked it a lot, it was considerably different from The Last Wish. Although I prefered The Last Wish much more, this was still a good read for me. There were a couple issues I had with the book, the first thing was feeling like I was missing something almost from the get go, even after reading The Last Wish, I now realize this is because there is another book of short stories that happens before (which I would totally love to read). The other issue I had was how little it actually focussed on Geralt and his exploits, that was the thing I loved so much about the first book. I still felt like this book was well done, but would recommend the short stories over this any day of the week.
